Sustainable Schools Movement

Through our project, we have helped to create a significant impact by empowering students in Nepal’s community schools to become climate warriors. By establishing new eco-clubs and strengthening existing ones, we have increased climate awareness among students and teachers, fostering a culture of environmental stewardship. This campaign will enable the development of locally relevant green school guidelines, which could be a replicable model for other municipalities in the future. Our piloted campaign addresses the critical gap in climate education for marginalized and indigenous children who are most vulnerable to climate change. We faced few hardships but have built strategic partnerships and utilized resources effectively to establish a network of young climate leaders. Our project- Sustainable Students Movement envisions a scalable, sustainable framework for making Nepal’s community schools more climate-resilient and environmentally conscious and laying the groundwork for a broader transformation and sustainable development across the country. Our project directly addresses SDG Goal no. 4 Quality Education and Goal no. 13 Climate Action and indirectly to other 15 remaining SDG goals.
