Waste Management Using IOT Applications and a Reactive Webpage

The project offers a smart waste management solution designed to transform waste management practices. It features smart bins equipped with ultrasonic sensors that monitor garbage levels and automate lid opening and closing for efficient disposal. A responsive webpage allows users to report issues, view bin locations, and check upcoming events. By addressing inefficiencies in the current trash management system—such as overfilled containers, excessive costs, and lack of timely data—this solution aims to provide reliable, real-time information to optimize collection schedules, lower operational costs, and enhance hygiene. Challenges include ensuring sensor reliability, integrating with existing systems, and increasing user engagement, ultimately leading to improved urban cleanliness and operational efficiency.

The smart IoT bins have brought transformative change to waste management across college campuses by using technology to monitor bin levels in real-time. This innovation has significantly streamlined waste collection processes, reducing transportation costs and collection times by allowing pickups only when bins are near capacity rather than following a fixed schedule. Preventing bins from overflowing has also helped avoid litter and pollution, keeping campuses cleaner and more environmentally friendly. Additionally, efforts to raise awareness about waste segregation have further amplified these positive outcomes. By integrating smart technology with waste management practices, the project effectively addresses environmental challenges and promotes better waste practices, contributing to a more sustainable campus and setting a model for other institutions to follow.
