Campus Eco Route: streamlining bus routes for a greener, more efficient transport system
The project generates significant economic, environmental, and social impacts by improving accessibility and optimizing transportation routes on campus. By tailoring routes to the community’s needs, it ensures consistent access to transportation while enhancing the college’s reputation for sustainability and efficiency. Reducing the number of buses and optimizing routes leads to lower operational costs related to fuel and maintenance, improving overall efficiency and reducing wear and tear on vehicles. This optimization minimizes fuel consumption, thereby lowering greenhouse gas emissions and air pollution, contributing to a cleaner campus environment. Furthermore, the project’s long-term benefits include potential extension to public transport systems and implementation by other colleges, illustrating that even small changes can lead to substantial impacts in the broader community.
